Megan Boone

MA, LPC-A

Megan Boone, MA, LPC-A, is a school-based counselor dedicated to helping children build emotional awareness, confidence, and resilience. She earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Southern Wesleyan University and centers her work on the belief that every child deserves a space where they can feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow. Megan takes a hands-on, compassionate stance with each child through Play Therapy techniques that foster trust, curiosity, and self-expression as they navigate their unique paths toward personal and emotional development. She watches how children play, taking note of themes and patterns and attending to symbolic communication. She believes it is critical to interpret behavior as communication rather than misbehavior. The core modality of Megan’s approach is grounded in insight by introducing the Psychodynamic theory in order to help clients explore root causes for challenges, linking past experiences to present functioning in order to break through barriers to growth. Her foundation is based in the Rogerian modality of being Person-Centered, a system that allows the client to lead the session while providing space for expression with a warm and attentive presence.
