Maynor Moreira

Master’s Level Counselor-In-Training (CIT)

Maynor completed his master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Messiah University in August 2026. After a successful business career, a natural inclination towards community, social justice, and spirituality, fueled by empathy and compassion, led Maynor to a new career path in clinical mental health. As a master’s-level Counselor In Training (CIT), Maynor continues to work with clients while awaiting licensure as a Professional Counselor Associate in South Carolina.

Maynor considers counseling to be a collaborative jig-saw journey where we can identify and explore pieces of the puzzle such as who you are, what you believe, and how you operate. Utilizing a multicultural holistic strengths-based approach, Maynor integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) techniques and narrative therapy to create a safe space for that journey. He hopes to reduce the stigma around counseling within religious and Latino communities and to empower all individuals, couples, and families with tools for achieving a variety of goals that include healing, growth, resilience, and/or wellness. Maynor grew up outside of New York City and enjoys exploring the Carolinas with family and new friends. When not working with clients, Maynor unwinds by playing volleyball, hiking, bike riding, and has recently added kayaking to the list.
