Maynor considers counseling to be a collaborative jig-saw journey where we can identify and explore pieces of the puzzle such as who you are, what you believe, and how you operate. Maynor uses a multicultural holistic strengths-based approach that integrates cognitive behavioral techniques and narrative therapy to create a safe space for that journey. He hopes to reduce the stigma around counseling and empower individuals, couples, and families with tools for achieving a variety of goals that include healing, growth, resilience, and/or wellness. His natural inclination towards community, social justice, and spirituality fueled by empathy and compassion have landed him on a new career path in clinical mental health. Maynor grew up outside of New York City and enjoys exploring the Carolinas with family and new friends. Nearly done with his Master’s from Messiah University, he unwinds by playing volleyball, hiking, bike riding, and has recently added kayaking to the list.
