Soon after graduation from Winthrop University Will and his wife, Monika, decided to join the Peace Corps. In 2015, he and his wife moved to Albania as Peace Corps Volunteers where they proudly served for 27 months. While living in the small mountainous village of Kelcyre,
Upon returning from Albania, Will received a job at Vocational Rehabilitation of South Carolina where he worked in York County and Chester County high schools as a Transition Counselor. Will gained even more experience working with children and adolescents while serving the special needs population of the five schools to which he was assigned.
With a desire to work with a more diverse population and conduct more in-depth therapy, Will gained his licensure through South Carolina as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and worked with multiple private agencies before finding his perfect fit with Dr. Beth Wilson and Thrive Family Services, LLC. After two difficult years, Will was honored to call himself a fully licensed LPC. Always moving forward, Will has recently chosen to take on a Supervisory role and is challenging himself as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor Candidate. He is adept at offering therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with an array of diagnoses. Will has found his passion and specializes in working with children and adolescents with trauma and/or ADHD/anger issues, individuals with special needs, as well as grief counseling for all ages. He uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Reality Therapy, and other clinically researched modalities to address each patient’s specific needs. Will is able to offer individual, family, and marriage counseling as well as clinical supervision.
