Kate received her masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University, Kansas City, Missouri. She has bachelors degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology. Kate worked for 13 years in Probation & Parole as an Officer before transitioning into various counseling positions and crisis work. She is also a certified Mind Body Eating Coach through The Institute for the Psychology of Eating.
Kate joins Thrive as a Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate and looks forward to working with a range of individuals, ages, and challenges. Extensive professional and personal experiences have equipped her with strengths such as empathy and attentiveness while bringing insight and new perspectives to her clients. Areas of interest are depression, anxiety, self-worth, spirituality, relationship with food and body, & physical health challenges.
Kate believes in an eclectic, holistic, and integrative approach to counseling while utilizing various techniques found in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, Humanistic and Existential approaches, mindfulness, and the use of art and music.
