elizabeth mcnamara

Elizabeth is a Master's candidate at Winthrop University in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. She has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in English with a minor in Disability Studies from The Ohio State University, and a Master’s of Education in Early Childhood Education.

Prior to beginning her counseling career, Elizabeth taught elementary school (Pre-K through 6) in the Charlotte region for 15 years.

Elizabeth’s counseling experience is with children, emerging adults, and middle age and older adults. She integrates humanistic, strengths-based approaches using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy(ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
